Over three-quarters of visitors to Las Vegas say that they gambled during their stay. You cannot step foot in Las Vegas without spending time in a casino for a while.
However, you don’t actually have to gamble to enjoy the magic of Las Vegas casino life. There are lots of other things you can do during your stay in the Entertainment Capital of the World.
Are you going to Vegas for the first time? Check out our 5 travel tips to make your experience the best it can be.
1. Get Your Own Vehicle in Las Vegas
New Yorkers be warned. Las Vegas doesn’t really do public transport.
You can even find yourself waiting for up to one hour to catch a cab. You could miss your dinner reservation as a result.
You can always ride-share. But, this isn’t always easy either.
Finally, if anyone tells you to walk anywhere, be suspicious. It may not look very far to walk to the next casino. But, it’s probably much further than you realize.
But, you could make everything simpler by keeping your own vehicle. If you’re flying into Las Vegas, then you need a car rental service.
2. Avoid Peak Dinner Hours
Las Vegas has more than 40 million visitors every year. This can create quite a lot of chaos during peak dinner hours.
Everyone rushes for dinner at around 6 pm. Every restaurant will be crowded until around 8 pm when everyone finishes.
You could beat everyone else by having an early dinner reservation or arriving much later than everyone else. This could make your vacation much more peaceful.
3. Bring a Portable Phone Charger
Your senses will be overwhelmed when you bit the streets of Vegas. You’ll need to have your smartphone ready to snap everything you see.
Many tourists quickly noticed that they run out of power pretty quickly when they’re taking photographs of everything. You need to pack a power charger to regain battery.
Don’t let down your Instagram fans.
4. Protect Yourself Against the Sun
When you’re in Las Vegas, you can easily get distracted by all of the fun activities. You may forget to put your sunscreen on.
But, the desert sun is much stronger than you realize. Make sure you protect your skin against the heat.
Even the warm climate can get to you. That’s why it’s always good to escape the heat by going indoors for the A/C during the daytime. You could also cool down by taking a dip in the swimming pool.
5. Avoid the Leafleters
The Strip is covered with people handing out leaflets. They’ll try to stop you on the sidewalk and get you talking to them.
Of course, they have discounts and deals to give you. But, most of these aren’t worth your time.
But, you should simply ignore them if you want to get somewhere. This is especially true if you’re with your family.
