If you’re a new Fitbit user, this little device is attached to make significant strides in helping you live healthier lives.
It’s time to get better acquainted with your new Fitbit Charge 3! Here are seven tips that will help you use your Fitbit to the max. With these tips, you can improve your health one (literally) step at a time.

1. Customize Your Dash
The first you open your Fitbit app, take the time to learn about the interface. Fitbit’s interface is entirely customizable, allowing you to alter the dashboard as you see fit.
For example, you can remove the calorie-counting feature and replace it with a measurement of how many hours you slept last night. A few taps, and you can alter the entire dashboard with the stats you want to see.
The next time you open the app to check your stats, it’s clear and clean.
That way, you don’t have to scroll through, looking for the stats you care about. Instead, you can move those blocks straight to the top!
To customize your Fitbit Charge3 dashboard, scroll down on the home screen. Then, tap on the “Edit” button. You’ll see a small “-” beside each information block.
You can use this button to remove the stats you don’t want to see.
Then, rearrange the remaining blocks. Once you’re done, click the tick button at the top-right of the screen.
2. Set Your Length
Fitbit users have collectively taken over 73.7 trillion steps. However, not every step is measured equally. So as you continue learning how to use your new Fitbit Charge3, update your stride.
Fitbit allows you to improve the accuracy of your stats by adjusting your stride. The app determines your stride based on your height. However, this doesn’t account for variables such as body proportions or long legs.
Instead, the app will determine your stride based on the distance traveled over the time you walked or ran.
Try manually setting your walking and running strides to improve your app’s accuracy. These fields are located at the bottom of the Advanced Settings screen.
Not sure how to measure your stride length? There’s no exact science to it.
You can measure your length by placing a marker on the ground. Then, run ten steps. Finally, measure the distance with a tape measure.
You can also determine your stride by counting how many steps you take to cover a 100m distance. Either way, it’s simple math!
3. Try Out Fitbit Coach
Fitbit’s software offers two main features: the step-counting tracker and Fitbit Coach.
Fitbit Coach gives you access to a digital trainer by offering 100 guided workouts and programs. You can use Fitbit Coach based on your fitness routine. In addition, the Coach classes will allow you to add more to your activity.
For example, for a few teaser sessions, you can try the Bodyweight Workouts section in the app. There are also shorter workouts available for you to try.
The feature isn’t free. However, Fitbit will let you try out a few Coach sessions before it prompts you to pay for the exclusive content.
Utilizing Fitbit Coach will help you develop a well-rounded workout regimen designed with your goals in mind. You won’t have to pay for a natural trainer, either, allowing you to save money and work out on your schedule.
4. Tred New Paths
Most people repeat the same path each time they head out for a walk or run. After a while, running the same track can start to feel tedious. You can use your new Fitbit Charge3 to add fun to your otherwise dull workout routine.
Fitbit’s “Solo Adventures” can motivate you to move a little more. This feature will take you through a virtual hike as you continue your day. As you walk, you’ll unlock panoramic pictures.
The app will even tell you fact-lets about the journey.
You’ll find the New York and Yosemite national park apps already available in the app. In addition, these routes are available under the Challenges tab. By trying these new Fitbit Charge 3 features, you can add a little excitement to your usual walk or run!
5. Create a Weight Loss Plan
No two fitness plans are exactly alike. If you want to use Fitbit to accomplish your weight loss goals, consider creating a weight loss plan in the app.
Fitbit’s app has a few hidden features you might not notice at a glance. Remember, the app is a lot more than just a fitness tracker.
For example, you can find a food plan-making feature in the Settings menu. First, the app will ask you how much weight you want to lose or gain. Then, it will set you up with a calorie deficit or excess to accomplish each day.
The app will also let you know how long it will take before you meet your ideal weight.
Then, it’s up to you to make healthy decisions and accomplish your weight loss goals.
6. Partner Up
You don’t have to accomplish your weight loss or fitness goals alone. Instead, give a Fitbit Charge 3 device to a friend or family member as a gift. Then, challenge them and see who can walk or run the most daily!
